So I had the chance to go on a very very last minute trip to Disney World. I am an annual passholder living in Miami, just a short road trip away from the happiest place on Earth.
I got a call from my dad saying my little sister was about to have her spring break and they wanted to come down to Florida (they live in Texas). The moment my dad said "Orlando" I was jumping for joy.
We made the plans and in just two weeks I was driving to the airport to pick them up and driving up to Disney!
For whatever reason, it didn't click in my mind that it was the opening weekend for Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway! I was hesitant though, I loved The Great Movie Ride and was unsure of whether I would enjoy this new ride.
Spoiler Alert: It was AMAZING. The entire ride from beginning to end is so immersive and nostalgic. You get to see Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Daisy, AND Pluto. As you go through the queue you see this beautiful art on the walls and are taken into a showroom. I wont give away any details but its essentially a skit that introduces the concept and story line of the ride.
The track is similar to Rise of the Resistance in the sense that there is no actual track, the vehicle goes through You are a passenger on Goofy's train (hence the name Runaway Railway) and are taken on a huge adventure.
I highly recommend this ride for really anyone. It is not a thrill ride that will lead to motion sickness, but it is a fun and immersive experience that all will enjoy.
